Granular and Beaded Silica Gel

Grace Davison offers various types of silica gel adsorbents in granular or beaded form. They exhibit

Grace Davison granular silica gels are the materials of choice when it comes to static drying applications in which attrition resistance and particle irregularities are of minor importance. Granular silica gels exhibit the advantageous adsorption properties of silica gels combined with a high particle stability caused by the specific hardness of silica gel (4-5 on Moh scale). Silica gel granules are available in various particle sizes between 0.5 and 6.0 mm (4 - 36 mesh).

Silica granulates are one of the most common materials found in desiccant sachets for packaging protection applications. In addition, wide porous granular silica gels are used in combination with beaded molecular sieves to protect the molecular sieve beads against liquid carryover.

Grace Davison beaded silica gels are characterized by the high purity and the specific adsorption/ regeneration properties of the silica gel and by superior particle integrity due to the combination of a beaded particle shape and the specific hardness of silica gel (4-5 on Moh scale).

This combination of adsorption properties and mechanical integrity makes beaded silica gel well suited for applications like natural gas drying , hydrocarbon dewpointing or air drying using SYLOBEAD® silica gel. In addition, wide porous silica gel beads can be used in combination with beaded molecular sieves to protect the molecular sieve beads against liquid carryover.

Silica gel beads are available in various particle sizes between 0.5 and 6.0 mm (4 - 36 mesh)
