SYLOSIV® Moisture Scavengers
Grace Davison SYLOSIV® molecular sieve powders are the product of choice when it comes to moisture scavengers.
In certain coating and molding systems, moisture introduced in the formulation via raw materials (solvents, pigments, extenders) causes undesirable side effects such as the formation of gas or foam.
SYLOSIV® molecular sieve or zeolite powder is especially well suited for removing such undesirable moisture, since water is strongly adsorbed as a result of its pronounced polar character.
Even at very low moisture concentrations, SYLOSIV® powder can adsorb more than 20% of its weight in water.
This high adsorptive capacity at low moisture levels distinguishes SYLOSIV® powders from other drying agents such as silica gels or certain calcium compounds, and makes SYLOSIV® zeolite powder the material of choice, especially for applications where even the smallest amount of water can be damaging.
Grace Davison zeolites are synthetic materials considered to be non-toxic.
