The presence of moisture can cause degradation of many goods when they are transported and or stored for a longer period of time. This is especially true for highly sensitive products such as pharmaceuticals, neutraceuticals, diagnostica, and optical and electronic devices.

For many years, GRACE Davison has been involved in the development and supply of desiccant products on the basis of zeolites and silica gel for bottle stoppers, capsules, and drying sachets. In such adsorbents, drying takes place by condensing water within the pores of the material.

While silica gel is characterized by a high water adsorption capacity at high humidity, zeolites are especially suitable for removing even traces of water vapor. Therefore zeolitic molecular sieves are the perfect materials for the protection of highly moisture sensitive products.

Using GRACE desiccants, moisture-driven product degradation during storage can be avoided or delayed.
