SYLOID® FP Anti-Caking Silicas

In bulk or powdered food applications, keeping product from caking during processing and storage (both short–term and long-term) is critical to providing a quality product to your customer.

Anti-caking agents effectively increase the shelf life of powdered food and food ingredients.

SYLOID® FP silicas acting as anti-caking agents serve the following functions:

Anti-Caking
  • Prevent packing of particles and act as a physical barrier when the mass is compacted
  • Adsorb excess moisture from the atmosphere before it can be adsorbed by the bulk powder
  • Adsorb moisture diffusing out of the bulk powder, especially in particle reduction steps and after drying if the center of the particle is still moist
  • Adsorb material in its internal pores, effectively eliminating the release of water or oil back into the food product due to compaction, etc.
