PHONOSORB^® Blends
for Fogging Prevention

In special cases when units contain solvent-based sealants or adhesives, the use of a PHONOSORB^® desiccant blend which delivers additional adsorption capacity for solvents in addition to water adsorption capacity is recommended.

This can be achieved by incorporating a small quantity of a wider porous adsorbent which prevents solvent condensation during cold periods or fogging of the glass after ultraviolet exposure from sunlight.

Grace Davison's blend grades provide the optimal combination of selected adsorbents. They have the ability to adsorb both moisture and hydrocarbons that can fog the interior space of an IG unit and have been engineered in combinations that minimize the adsorption of nitrogen as well as other gases incorporated in an IG unit.
