LUDOX® Colloidal Silica
for Paper Frictionizing
To improve the surface properties of recycled paper, containerboard, corrugated sheets, boxes and multiwall paper bags, coatings with LUDOX® colloidal silica as an antiskid agent can be applied.
Coatings with LUDOX® colloidal silica as an antiskid agent can be applied. Such coatings provide the following benefits:
- Paper rolls are less susceptible to telescoping
- Paper sheets move through transport rollers more easily
- Treated boxes and corrugated sheets are less susceptible to slipping and sliding during transportation and storage
- The smooth, evenly distributed coating will enhance printing on boxes
In this application area, the colloidal silica provides a clear surface treatment that increases the surface friction coefficient with slide angle improvements of 5-20ยบ.
