EnSieve® Molecular Sieve for Ethanol Dehydration
Produce ethanol economically and reliably
With
over 50 years of experience, Grace Davison has become a global leader in developing,
manufacturing and marketing commercial molecular sieves for a variety of drying
and purification applications.
One example is the drying of ethanol, which is only possible to the azeotropic point
by traditional distillation techniques. In order to obtain ethanol contents higher
than 95%, water removal with molecular sieve beads in either gas or liquid phase
is the method of choice.
Grace Davison's EnSieve® MS 562ET is a 3A molecular sieve designed exclusively for ethanol
dehydration. This product offers several unique benefits including:
- Superior rate of adsorption achieved by control of the meso and macropore structure
of the beads allowing users to achieve ultra-dry ethanol.
- High physical strength through our choice of binder maximizing crush strength and
minimizing dusting and breakage of the beads exposed to the rigors of Vacuum/Pressure
Swing Adsorption
- Extremely low reactivity levels due to the binder selection which minimizes side
reactions such as the formation of aldehydes and ketones, critical contaminants in
pharmaceutical and other specialty applications of ethanol.
- Tight bead particle size distribution affording uniform flow distribution of vapor
phase ethanol and consistent drying
Grace Davison is not only a supplier of superior adsorbents, we also provide comprehensive
customer service to enable optimal value contribution by our products to our customers'
processes.
Committed to a full adsorbent life-cycle concept, we provide a complete service from
the conception of the unit to advice about the replacement of the adsorbent after
its lifetime.
