LUDOX^® Colloidal Silica for Elastomer Foams

Cushioning made from polyurethane or rubber foams can be made more compression resistant through the addition of colloidal silica.

The addition of 3% silica solids to the formulation before foaming will increase compression resistance by 10-20% at a lower raw material cost.

Alternatively, the cured foam can be impregnated with LUDOX^® colloidal silica by immersing it in the properly diluted product and then drying it.
